Pothas signed for Hampshire in 2002 from Gauteng |
Hampshire wicketkeeper Nic Pothas has signed a new two-year extension to his contract, keeping him at the Rose Bowl until the end of the 2011 season. Pothas, 35, has been deputising as captain of Hampshire while regular skipper Dimitri Mascarenhas has been playing in the ICC World Twenty20. Pothas said: "It was probably one of the easiest decisions I've had to make in quite a while. "The club has some great ambitions, and I see myself being a big part of that." Pothas joined Hampshire in 2002, after previously playing for Gauteng in his native South Africa, and he has now qualified to play for England.
