Hampshire captain Dimitri Mascarenhas will play just one Twenty20 Cup match before joining England's one-day squad for the series with New Zealand.

Mascarenhas will only be available for Hampshire's first game - against Middlesex Crusaders on Wednesday.

"It's unfortunate," he told BBC Radio Solent. "I have been looking forward to the Twenty20 Cup this year but I have been picked for England which is great.

"But I am available for the first game, so hopefully we can get a win."

The Hawks are already without Shane Watson after the all-rounder's call up to the Australian one-day squad.
