Hampshire cricket manager Paul Terry is insistent the one-day deal offered to bowler Billy Taylor will not change. Taylor has been offered a contract to only play one-day games next summer.
However, seamer James Bruce has now retired, leaving the county with only six pace bowlers with first-team experience in their squad.
But Terry told BBC Radio Solent: "We are going to stick with that offer for the time being, so there will be more opportunities for the youngsters."

Taylor, 30, did not play any Championship cricket for Hampshire last season, and has played just 24 Championship matches in the four seasons he has been at the Rose Bowl since moving from Sussex. Hampshire's young brigade of pace bowlers includes 25-year-old left-armer James Tomlinson, who has missed most of the last two seasons with injury, David Balcombe, 23, who only made his debut last season, and 22-year-old Isle Of Wight-born David Griffiths, who made his debut a year earlier.
The six squad pace bowlers currently on Hampshire's books include Chris Tremlett and Dimitri Mascarenhas, both of whom could be called up by England frequently during the summer.
Hampshire expect to announce their overseas player for the first two months of the season in the next couple of weeks.
