Chris Taylor top-scored for Gloucestershire against Kent |
Gloucestershire batsman Chris Taylor knows his side will face a stern Twenty20 test against in-form Sussex at Hove on Wednesday. Sussex head the competition's south group while Gloucestershire are struggling in seventh spot. "They're a good side and they're playing some very confident cricket," Taylor told BBC Radio Gloucestershire. "We're not kidding ourselves - it's going to take a good performance by us to beat them." In Gloucestershire's last outing, a 36-run defeat by Kent at Gloucester, Taylor top-scored with 67, smashing four sixes and six fours. He is confident that, with 12 matches remaining, the county can make up ground to give themselves a chance of progressing. "It's by no means a lost cause," he added. "There's a lot of games left in this competition and you only have to finish in the top four to go through to the quarter-finals. "When it becomes a knock-out stage, anything can happen." Gloucestershire's match against Somerset at Taunton on Friday will begin at 1630 BST, an hour earlier than scheduled, to avoid a clash with the England v Algeria World Cup game.
