Dawson's 11 Test wickets came at more than 60 runs apiece

Gloucestershire have completed the signing of former England off-spinner Richard Dawson.

Dawson, 28, was released by Northants at the end of last season and has been coaching at Gordonstoun School.

"We are delighted. Richard is a player with international experience [and] a Championship medal," team mentor Jack Russell told the club website.

The last of Dawson's seven Test matches came in 2003, before his move from Yorkshire to Northants.
