Bracewell guided Gloucestershire to a double in 1999 and a treble in 2000 |
Former Gloucestershire coach John Bracewell will return to the county as director of cricket next season. Bracewell won seven trophies in five years with Gloucestershire before becoming New Zealand's coach in 2003. The 50-year-old, who also played in 41 test matches and 53 one-day internationals, will leave his current role in April 2009. "I have gained experience from international cricket and hope to invest that in this club," he said. "After six seasons on the international circuit I am delighted to return to Gloucestershire as my family and I regard this as out second home." Club chairman John Light added: "When last with us, John Bracewell brought us trophies and promotion to the first division in 2003. "The whole club has the will to support him and the appointment of a renowned figure to lead our cricket shows our determination to take Gloucestershire forward."
