Chambers has bowled just 45 overs on the tour, taking two wickets |
Maurice Chambers has pulled out of the England Lions tour of the West Indies for treatment on a left thigh strain. The Essex pace bowler had played in just two matches in the Caribbean, taking two wickets. He is the second member of the Lions pace attack to pull out of the tour after Liam Plunkett flew home last week, also with a thigh strain. Nottinghamshire's Andy Carter is in for Chambers, who is expected to be fit for the start of the domestic season. The Lions won their first match against the Leeward islands, but have since drawn with Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Combined Campuses and Colleges. They are in a strong position against Guyana, having bowled the hosts out for 78 in their first innings.
