Carter's only first-class wickets have come against Essex |
Nottinghamshire right-arm fast bowler Andy Carter has joined Essex on a one-month loan deal. The 21-year-old will be available to Essex coach Paul Grayson for all forms of the game from 11 July. He made his Nottinghamshire debut against Essex at Southend in 2009, recording figures of 3-32. Grayson told the Essex website: "He is a genuine fast bowler with good pace, he is very raw but will offer something a bit different." He added: "At 6ft 5ins he is sometimes unorthodox in his bowling, we see Andy more as a four-day player. "We have used David Masters, Maurice Chambers and Chris Wright as our seam attack so far this season. "Andy will come into the squad and provide additional competition for places, which is always healthy." Carter, who has played only two first-class and nine limited over matches, was part of the 2009-10 England Performance Squad.
