Kaneria will be on tour with Pakistan in July and August |
Essex coach Paul Grayson says they have a "very good player" lined up to replace overseas star Danish Kaneria. The Pakistan leg-spinner has been selected for his country's Test and one-day tour of Sri Lanka, which begins at the end of June. Grayson told BBC Essex: "We've got a replacement ready to come in, so hopefully he'll be here for the County Championship match against Glamorgan. "I can't tell you who he is at the moment, but he's a very good player." Kaneria, 28, has been in fine form for Essex in recent weeks, taking six second-innings wickets in their County Championship win against Kent last week. | 606: DEBATE |
He followed that up with 3-21 in Monday's Twenty20 Cup defeat of Middlesex. Grayson hopes to have the spinner's services for the three remaining Twenty20 Cup group matches which take place this week.
