Maunders averaged 43 in his three appearances for Essex last season |
Essex have completed the signing of batsman John Maunders on a one-year contract for the 2009 season. Maunders played three games for the club in 2008 and hit a century against Warwickshire, following a trial spell with the county's second XI side. The 27-year-old left-hander previously spent four years with Leicestershire. Coach Paul Grayson told BBC Essex: "He's really determined to give it another go - he's a good player and we're delighted to get him on board."
