Interview: Durham's Will Smith Durham batsman Will Smith has been voted as the club's Player of the Year after an impressive season with the Division One champions. Smith, 26, racked up 925 County Championship runs from 12 matches and finished second behind Michael Di Venuto in the club's batting averages. His skill at the crease also earned him the Batsman of the Year Award. And the evening was capped off for the former Notts opener with the Young Player of the Year award. Elsewhere, fast bowler Steve Harmison picked up the Bowler of the Year and Players' Player of the Year. Di Venuto clinched Fielder of the Year and Will Gidman collected the Community Player of the Year gong. Batsman Gordon Muchall was presented with the Second XI Player of the Year award.
