Benkenstein and Durham were winners of the trophy last season |
Durham skipper Dale Benkenstein believes they can emulate last season's success in the Friends Provident Trophy ahead of Friday's visit to Derbyshire. He told BBC Radio Newcastle: "We can concentrate on the white ball after we put in a performance against Yorkshire. "We probably could have finished off better than we did so we'll be looking to improve on that on Friday. "We're confident in the 50-over format and everyone will get some good out of the match with Derbyshire." Benkenstein's side are holders of the Trophy, having scooped the title at Lord's against Hampshire in August 2007. The South African all-rounder is philosophical about Durham's fixture list which has plotted to hand them four consecutive away games. Cannot play media. Sorry, this media is not available in your territory. "Wherever we have to play, we have to play. The fixtures have never been predictable. "It's not a problem, wherever we play we have to play good cricket. We've got enough experience to be able to play on most surfaces. "If we get good results coming back from those games then at least we've got the home games to go into afterwards."
