Derbyshire legend Derek Morgan will be officially confirmed as the club's new president at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 30 March. The club's leading first-class appearance maker after playing in 540 matches between 1950 and 1969, Morgan will take over from Bob Taylor. Derbyshire's General Committee have already approved the nomination and he will be in the role for two years. All-rounder Morgan scored 17,842 runs for Derbyshire and took 1,216 wickets. He is the club's third leading run-scorer of all time fifth on the all-time list for wickets. Morgan also took 563 catches and had a four-year stint as captain from 1965 to 1969, leading the county to a Gillette Cup final appearance at Lord's in his final year.
