Former Derbyshire and England wicketkeeper Bob Taylor has been named as the county's new president. Taylor made 514 first-class appearances for Derbyshire between 1964 and 1981, taking more than 1,000 catches and hitting almost 10,000 first-class runs. "It gives me great pleasure and is a terrific honour," said Taylor. "I would love to see Derbyshire being successful on the field, hopefully getting promoted to the first division of the County Championship." Taylor replaces BBC Midlands Today presenter Nick Owen, whose two-year spell had come to an end.
