Derbyshire will take Twenty20 cricket to Staffordshire in June when they meet Warwickshire at Leek. Derbyshire staged a 40-over game with Essex at Highfield last season and have now committed to play the FP t20 tie there on Sunday, 26 June. Chief executive Keith Loring said: "Playing at Leek last season demonstrated to our match-day operation could be performed at the venue. "The public produced an excellent response. They deserve this." Leek cricket club chairman Brian Mellor said: "This fixture will provide an excellent opportunity for the people of Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands and Stoke-on-Trent to witness Twenty20 cricket close to home. "Twenty20 has become one of the most popular spectator sports in the world and it is a great thrill that we are now looking forward to hosting such a high profile match at Highfield."
