Derbyshire batsman Chesney Hughes has signed a new contract to stay at the County Ground until the end of 2013. The 19-year-old, born in Anguilla, has hit 393 runs in his first four Championship matches for the county. Head of Cricket John Morris said: "Chesney has shown a great deal of promise from the moment he joined the club and deserves the new contract. "We are delighted that he has committed to Derbyshire as he continues to develop as a cricketer." Chairman Don Amott added: "I'm sure all Derbyshire supporters share my excitement at continuing to watch Chesney develop his considerable talent for the next three seasons."
