Bosman has an average of 50 in international Twenty20 matches |
Derbyshire's new overseas player Loots Bosman says his aim is to lead the county into the semi-finals of the FP t20 this season. The South African made his debut in Wednesday's opening game of the competition, hitting 39 off 37 balls in an 11-run victory over Leicestershire. Bosman told BBC Radio Derby: "Coming here is very exciting for me and it's a challenge and an experience. "I want to focus on this and take the team to a new level and the semis." The 33-year-old hit three fours and two sixes in his 37-ball innings, including 16 off one Andrew McDonald over. The South African batsman had been with touring in the West Indies but was allowed to leave early and head to Derbyshire. That meant an overnight flight and having to go without sleep for 36 hours, before making his debut at Grace Road. "I went to the South African management to ask them for permission (to play), which they agreed on and I was very happy with that," added Bosman. "I am just looking forward to the campaign and who knows I might stay for the rest of the season."
