Steffan Jones took career-best Twenty20 figures to lead Derbyshire to an 11-run win over Leicestershire at Grace Road.

Jones picked up 3-20 as the home side were restricted to 154-8 in pursuit of their victory target of 166.

His victims included Andrew McDonald, who was caught at long-on in the final over after hitting a 50-ball 67 to keep Leicestershire in contention.

Earlier, Loots Bosman (39), Greg Smith (30) and Robin Peterson (29) were the mainstays of the Derbyshire's 165-5.

Derbyshire had struggled in the early part of their innings - scoring only 23 runs in the powerplay - until Bosman took 16 off one McDonald over.

When the South Africa international fell to Brad Hodge the rest of the visiting batsmen kept up the assault by taking 101 runs off the final 10 overs.

Leicestershire slipped to 64-4 in reply before McDonald and Paul Nixon (24) dragged them back into the game.

But when Nixon fell - caught attempting a reverse sweep - McDonald was left with too much to do.
