Derbyshire have announced that first team cricket will return to the Staffordshire Moorlands after a break of 18 years. The Falcons will travel to Leek on 3 May to face Essex in the ECB 40 League at the Highfield ground. Derbyshire chief executive Keith Loring told the club website: "We have close links with Staffordshire cricket through our Academy. "This is a chance for us to give something back." He said: "The increased number of one-day games has given us more opportunity to go out into the community which is great for the club, as we aim to reach the widest possible audience. "Staffordshire has a rich cricketing tradition in terms of the players it has produced and the popularity of the sport in the county - so we are delighted to offer their community this opportunity to watch the Falcons in action."
