Footitt was released by Notts in August |
Derbyshire have completed the signing of former Nottinghamshire fast bowler Mark Footitt. The 23-year-old left-armer made his Notts debut in 2005 but has struggled to win a regular first-team place and was released at the end of last season. Footitt said: "I'm stepping into a new, exciting challenge and am determined to prove myself. Hopefully that challenge can bring out the best in me. "This is a great chance to establish myself as a first-class cricketer." Derbyshire head of cricket John Morris added: "Mark is the right age of cricketer for us and - although he has not played a lot of first-class cricket - he has been around a county cricket environment for some time and is, therefore, an experienced cricketer." Footitt played nine first-class matches during his time at Trent Bridge and is a former England Under-19 international.
