Charl Langeveldt joined Derbyshire at the start of last season |
Derbyshire have reluctantly agreed to let Charl Langeveldt play in this season's Indian Premier League. Langeveldt, 34, will play for the Kolkata Knight Riders from 18 April to 24 May before returning to the County Ground until the end of the season. Head of cricket John Morris said it would be hard to stop a player earning the sums of money available in the IPL. "I am pleased he has the opportunity to play alongside the world's best in the IPL competition," said Morris. "We will undoubtedly miss a bowler of Charl's experience and ability for the early part of the season. "But the absence of Charl will mean that somebody else gets an opportunity to fill the gap left by one of our senior bowlers."
