Smith was born in Johannesburg

Derbyshire all-rounder Greg Smith has signed a new two-year-contract with the cricket club.

The 25-year-old former South African youth international has missed most of the current campaign through injury, but hit a century in the Twenty20 cup.

Smith began his first-class career with Griqualand West before moving to England to further his career in 2004.

"I am delighted to be keeping him at the club for a further two years," said head of cricket John Morris.
