Tom Maynard and Ben Wright put Glamorgan in prime position for a final-day push for victory over Worcestershire at Colwyn Bay.

Maynard hit 98 and Wright an unbeaten 97 to help the hosts reach 355-6 at the close, a lead of 374.

Gareth Rees (65) and Jim Allenby (62) also weighed in, with Matt Mason picking up 3-64.

Earlier, Daryl Mitchell finished unbeaten on 165 as the visitors declared on 350-8, 19 behind.

After a short rain delay in the morning, Worcestershire lost Ben Cox and Richard Jones before Mason (25 not out) joined Mitchell to take the visitors to their fourth batting bonus point.

Glamorgan lost the in-form Mark Cosgrove for a duck, bowled by Mason to give the 36-year-old his 300th first-class wicket.

But that brought Maynard to the crease, as he plundered 10 fours and six sixes in a 150-run partnership with Rees.

A wobble saw Glamorgan lose Maynard, Rees and captain Jamie Dalrymple for 16 runs, only for Wright and Allenby to stabilise the situation with a stand of 135.

Allenby and Mark Wallace both fell late in the day to Shakib Al Hasan and Moeen Ali respectively, but Glamorgan had already established a position of dominance.
