 Mark Cosgrove's 84 came from 75 balls, with 15 fours and a six |
Glamorgan trio Mark Cosgrove, Ben Wright and Jamie Dalrymple all hit half-centuries before Worcestershire fought back on day one at Colwyn Bay. After the hosts won the toss, Cosgrove (84) shared an opening stand of 100 with Gareth Rees (25). The hosts then slipped to 145-3, only for Wright (72) and Dalrymple (56) to add 97 for the fourth wicket. But the visitors fought back with six wickets for 76 runs late in the day, with Glamorgan closing on 319-9. On a slow pitch, Cosgrove dominated the early proceedings either side of a 75-minute rain delay. | 606: DEBATE |
But after he and Rees completed their fourth century stand of the summer, Glamorgan lost three wickets for 45 runs. Wright and Dalrymple halted the slump but Glamorgan again lost their way when Wright edged a swinging delivery from James Cameron to slip. James Allenby, Mark Wallace and Robert Croft all fell cheaply before Dalrymple played on to his stumps off Matt Mason. David Harrison also fell before the close, but Huw Waters and Dean Cosker ensured that the Glamorgan innings continued into the second day.
