A draw looks the most likely outcome of Glamorgan's game with Surrey in Cardiff, despite paceman James Harris taking four wickets on day three.

After Glamorgan were bowled out for 372, Harris (4-82) struck to remove Steven Davies (83) and Mark Ramprakash (73) as Surrey slipped from to 222-5.

But 49 from Usman Afzaal and all-rounder Gareth Batty's 32 helped the visitors declare on 303-9.

Glamorgan, chasing a record fifth straight win, were 7-0 at the close.

The hosts had begun the day on 363-8 but their innings lasted only another 34 balls as Chris Tremlett (3-55) wrapped up the tail.

Surrey openers Davies and Arun Harinath (31) then added 83 for the first wicket and, when Harinath went lbw to Jamie Dalrymple, Ramprakash arrived to help move the score to 157.

Harris then struck to remove Davies and Younus Khan, on his Surrey debut, in the same over.

First Davies edged to wicketkeeper Mark Wallace before Younus shouldered arms to a ball that nipped back and hit off stump.

Ramprakash, who by reaching 19 reached 34,000 first-class runs, and Afzaal had moved the score to 222 when Harris repeated the double-wicket dose.

Ramprakash edged a lifting ball through to Wallace and Surrey captain Rory Hamilton-Brown was trapped leg before.

Afzaal and Batty took Surrey to a third batting point before Hamilton-Brown declared in the faint hope of forcing a result.
