Ireland were beaten by a West Indies XI for the second time in two days in a Twenty20 game reduced by rain to 15 overs at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

The hosts won by 16 runs after posting a 152-4 total, with Ramnaresh Sarwan hitting three sixes in his 52.

Trent Johnston was the best of the Irish with 39 from 20 balls while captain William Porterfield (25) and Nigel Jones (21) also contributed.

The teams meet next in a World Twenty20 opener on 30 April.

Sarwan starred for the Windies by plundering three sixes in his 52 off just 27 balls.

Kevin O'Brien, Alex Cusack and Peter O'Connell each picked up a wicket but the Irish bowlers failed to stem the runs coming from Sarwan and Wavel Hinds (38).

Paul Stirling and Niall O'Brien both fell early and the Irish struggled to build decent partnerships, with the best of 46 coming from Johnston and Jones.

Trinidadian paceman Ravi Rampaul took three wickets as Ireland fell short on 136-7.
