Sussex and Hants thwarted by rain

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE, Arundel:
CLOSE OF PLAY, DAY THREE: Sussex 441 Hampshire 227-2
(Sussex 4pts, Hants 4pts)
15 - 18 July 2009

Sussex v Hampshire

Heavy rain at Arundel meant that just nine completed overs were possible on day three of the County Championship match between Sussex and Hampshire.

In that time, the visitors moved from their overnight score of 213-2 to 227-2, with Michael Lumb 45 not out and John Crawley unbeaten on 20.

They will resume day four 114 behind Sussex, after the home side were bowled out for 441 on day two.

But with just one day remaining, a draw looks to be the most likely result.
