Day one of Derbyshire's County Championship Division Two match with Middlesex was washed out without a ball being bowled.

Steady rain at Derby led umpires Jeff Evans and Nick Cook to call play off for the day at 1430 BST.

When the game does begin, the hosts have paceman Nantie Hayward back after he missed the win over Gloucestershire.

Paceman Chris Silverwood and Alan Richardson are in the Middlesex squad, with opener Sam Robson set to play.
