The Pro40 Division Two clash between Derbyshire and Northants was abandoned without a ball being bowled after steady rain in Derby.

The match was due to be played under floodlights, but persistent drizzle kept the players in the pavilion.

Umpires Nick Cook and Jeff Evans made several inspections but called the match off at 1945 BST.

Both teams take one point from what was their opening fixture of the last ever Pro40 season.
