Garry Park
Park struck six fours and one six in his unbeaten 70

Garry Park hit an unbeaten 70 to keep Derbyshire in touch with Leicestershire on day two at Derby.

Beginning the day on 341-5, the visitors were eventually dismissed for 412 with James Taylor making 89, Tom New 66 and Ian Hunter picking up 5-82.

Derbyshire openers Chris Rogers (47) and Steve Stubbings shared 60 for the first wicket before both were removed by Harry Gurney (2-20).

Park and Dan Redfern (36 not out) then took the hosts to 188-2 at the close.

Taylor added just three to his overnight score of 86 before being trapped lbw by Hunter, sparking a collapse which saw the visitors lose their last five wickets for 63 runs.

Rogers hit six fours in his 70-ball effort, but was caught behind by New chasing a wide ball from Gurney.

Park and Stubbings then shared 43 for the second wicket, before Stubbings was trapped leg before for a painstaking 19 from 110 balls.

Park then took the attack to the bowlers, lifting spinner Walker a straight six in a half-century that came up in 108 balls, as he and Redfern shared an unbroken stand of 85 for the third wicket.
