Rana Naved ul-Hasan's all-round efforts saw Yorkshire to a thrilling four-wicket Friends Provident Trophy win against Surrey at The Oval. Naved took just four balls to smash the 18 needed off the final over, going 6,4,4,4 to see Yorkshire to 330-6. He finished 53 not out from 24 balls, after Adam Lyth (83) and Michael Vaughan (74) had laid the foundations. Earlier, Naved picked up three wickets as Scott Newman's highest ever one-day score of 177 helped Surrey to 329-8. The win sees Yorkshire climb above Surrey to finish third in Group C, but both sides miss out on a place in the quarter-finals. Newman's effort ranks high on Surrey's all-time one-day role of honour, only Ali Brown (twice) and team-mate James Benning having ever hit higher scores for the county.
