There were concerns over Eduardo's career when he was initially injured

Arsenal striker Eduardo has undergone revision surgery on the left ankle he dislocated over a year ago.

The Croatia international was injured in February 2008 following a tackle by Birmingham's Martin Taylor, which also resulted in a fractured left fibula.

After 12 months out he returned to action in February this year - only for a hamstring problem to sideline him.

And the 25-year-old has now had another minor operation on his ankle, though he will return for pre-season training.

A statement on the club's official website read: "The operation went well and Eduardo will follow a dedicated rehabilitation programme throughout June.

"He is expected to return to full training in pre-season with the rest of the squad."

Eduardo joined Arsenal from Dinamo Zagreb for around £7.5m in July 2007, but has managed only 24 starts since then, scoring 15 goals.
