Derbyshire escaped with a draw as the 109 overs lost to rain and bad light during the match put paid to Glamorgan's hopes of victory.

Derbyshire were indebted to Dan Birch for a rearguard effort which saw him score 43 and help his side to 184-7 - a lead of 89 - when the game ended.

Derbyshire were 66-1 at lunch but when they slumped to 89-4 it briefly looked like a result might be on the cards.

But Birch led a recovery and the visitors held out for the draw.
