Championship D1, Riverside, day four:
Durham 474 & 194-1 bt Warwickshire 239 & 256-1
Points: Durham 21, Warwicks 2
Openers Michael di Venuto and Phil Mustard shared a pulsating 157 in 23 overs as Durham recorded a memorable nine-wicket victory over Warwickshire.
The Bears resumed at 256-1 but Ian Westwood departed in the first over and five wickets fell for 13 in five overs.
A final wicket stand of 71 looked to have saved them, with Durham set a formidable 192 in only 36 overs.
But Mustard hit three fours in the second over and di Venuto saw them home with 14 fours and a six in his 91.
After the loss of Westwood, Kumar Sangakkara lost his off-stump to Ottis Gibson in his first over with the new ball.
Then came the collapse, but Lee Daggett substantially improved his career-best 12 not out by contributing 33 to the last-wicket stand with James Anyon, who equalled his best
with an unbeaten 37.
Mustard gave the Durham chase a flying start, racing to 50 from 33 balls, but after 10 fours and a big six over mid-wicket off Alex Loudon, he
dragged an attempted pull off Anyon into his stumps.
With the target down to 36 off 13 overs, West Indian Shivnarine Chanderpaul helped di Venuto to tick off the remaining runs with an assured 16 not out.
