Points: Northamptonshire 20, Gloucestershire 5 Monty Panesar took five wickets on the final morning to earn Northamptonshire a 138-run Championship victory over Gloucestershire in Division Two.
Resuming on 119-4, Gloucestershire lost Steve Kirby and Chris Taylor in quick succesion to the England spinner.
Hamish Marshall reached 58 before being trapped lbw and Carl Greenidge became Panesar's sixth victim of the innings.
A last-wicket stand of 39 ended when Steven Crook dismissed Ben Edmondson, leaving the visitors all out for 192.
It was Northants' third Championship Division Two win of the season and slow left-armer Panesar recorded his best figures of the campaign in the process.
Nightwatchman Kirby was lbw for an 18-ball duck with Panesar's second delivery of the day, whileTaylor played all around Panesar's left-arm spin to be bowled second ball.
Marshall reached his half century from 125 balls with a well-timed cut off Panesar but once Steve Adshead edged to Stephen Peters via wicket-keeper Riki Wessels and the New Zealander the outcome was inevitable.
