C&G Trophy Final as it happened
C&G TROPHY FINAL: Hampshire 290 (50 overs) beat Warwickshire 272 (49.2 overs) by 18 runs

Hampshire clinched an 18-run victory over Warwickshire in the C&G Trophy final despite Nick Knight's 118.

The Bears were in command at 163-1 after a stand of 122 between Knight and Ian Bell, but an injury to Bell soon led to his downfall and the rate rose.

Sean Ervine hit an aggressive century in Hampshire's 290, sharing 134 with Nic Pothas, who added a composed 68.

Ervine and Shane Watson fell in the same over and Neil Carter picked up two wickets in the final over to take 5-66.

Tremlett bowls Ntini to finish the job and spark celebrations from the men in the yellow shirts.

50th over: Warwickshire gain a bonus as Hants have taken too long to bowl their overs and six penalty runs are added. Tremlett bowls the final over with 20 required.

49th over: WICKET Warwickshire 265-9 (Giles 5)
Watson displays a corker of a slower ball, loses control with a chest-high full toss then uses a slower ball again to bowl Giles, who was through the shot way too early.

49th over: WICKET Warwickshire 260-8 (Brown 15)
Watson returns to the attack and strikes first ball as Brown gets an inside edge onto his leg stump looking to carve on the off side.

48th over: Fresh from his Ashes exploits, Giles drives Bichel over extra cover for a one-bounce four. Bichel finishes with figures of 3-57 off 10 overs. 260-7

Warwickshire's late hope goes as Knight picks Bichel though the air to Latouf at deep square leg.

47th over: Knight survives as his drive goes through the fingers of a leaping Crawley at midwicket. Latouf makes a diving stop at the boundary but Brown's dab hits the rope anyway. 251-6

Tremlett returns to the attack and after firing a couple down the leg side to Knight, finds the right line to york Loudon with a beauty. New batsman Dougie Brown gets off the mark with a single. 240-6

45th over: The required rate climbs over 10 per over as the batsmen swap scampered singles. Ervine bowls some good, low full tosses to keep new boy Loudon quiet. 234-5

44th over: Knight pulls Bichel just wide of the fielder in the deep for a vital boundary. Another leg-side flick is just short of the same man. 231-5

43rd over: Ervine, who was expensive early on, replaces Watson at the Pavilion End. With the field spread, there are a pair of twos for Knight and new batsman Alex Loudon gets off the mark with a pulled single. However, by the end of the over Warwickshire have gne 50 balls without a boundary. 223-5

42nd over: WICKET Warwickshire 215-5 (Trott 3)
Watson swoops from point and throws to the non-striker's end to dismiss Trott, who had simply nudged on the off side and scampered. 217-5

41st over: Knight pulls Watson for two to deep midwicket to reach his first ever one-day century at Lord's. There are handshakes all round, but there is work still to do. Warwickshire 213-4

40th over: With the required rate having gone above eight, there are only singles scored and Penney edges a rejuvenated Bichel to the keeper, prompting a cartwheel from the veteran Australian. Warwickshire 207-4

39th over: Knight, who informs the umpires he is having trouble sighting the discolured white ball, plays out three dot balls from Watson before a single allows Penney to swipe a two. Warwickshire 204-3

49th over: Bichel whips Ntini over mid-wicket for four, edges over the slips for four, loses sight of a full toss that hits him on the thigh and edges past his stumps for another boundary, before Lamb is run out by Ntini. Hampshire 282-7

48th over: Carter picks up his third wicket when Mascarenhas top-edges and Bell takes a neat catch running backwards, before the batsmen scramble an overthrow to frustrate the Bears. Hampshire 269-6

47th over: Mascarenhas slices the returning Ntini but the batsmen collect two down to third man. Hampshire 264-5

46th over: After Ervine completes his century Watson is caught at the second attempt, but the batsmen cross and Ervine swipes the next one from Trott away for another four, before also holing out to Troughton. Hampshire 258-5

8th over: Brown struggles with his line and sends down a wide which keeper Frost cannot stop, and then next ball is wide on the other side and hit for four more. After another wide there is more misfortune for Brown when Crawley gets an inside edge past the stumps for another four. Hampshire 34-0

7th over: Jack-in-the-box Ntini, who continues running after completing his deliveries, beats Crawley again with another one that moves away when the batsman is expecting it to angle in. Hampshire 19-0

6th over: Pothas fails to make contact with a wild swipe at Brown, and pushes a single to mid-on off the final ball for the only run. Hampshire 18-0

5th over: Ntini, moving the ball sharply in towards the right-handers, has an lbw appeal ruled out for height and beats Crawley between bat and pad, only a leg-side wide spoiling the over. Hampshire 17-0

4th over: Brown offers too much width and Crawley hits a glorious square drive, then when it is angling too far towards leg-stump, he clips it off his toes for four more. Hampshire 15-0

3rd over: Crawley finds it tough going against the pace and inward slant of the volatile Ntini, but after the batsmen scramble a single Pothas strikes a textbook cover drive for the first boundary, before being beaten by a final ball that moved away. Hampshire 7-0

2nd over: Brown finds some away swing wide of the off-stump, too much with one that is called wide, but that is the only run off the over. Hampshire 1-0

1st over: After an aborted attempt to bowl the first ball, Ntini pins back Crawley on the crease but there is no appeal, despite replays suggesting the ball would have clipped leg-stump. Hampshire 0-0
