Brindle has nine test and 58 one-day international caps for England |
Lincolnshire's Arran Brindle has been called up by England six years after her last full international appearance. The all-rounder, returning after starting a family, is in the squad for the one-day and Twenty20 series against Australia, New Zealand and India. She told BBC Lincolnshire: "Making a decision to come back is one thing. "But the ultimate is to pull an England shirt on again. You always want it sooner rather than later and for it to come this summer is fantastic." Brindle, 29, played in 58 one-day internationals and nine tests and was a member of the 2005 Ashes-winning side. She returned to the international set-up with the England Academy squad in India in April. She added: "Every opportunity you get at any level to put some performances on the board is a good thing. "Not many people have such a prolonged break and then decide to come back but the time in India has worked well for me."
