Kenworthy has been on the European Umpires Panel since 2008 |
Isle of Man umpire David Kenworthy has been selected to join ICC Europe's Elite Panel. Kenworthy will now be eligible to officiate at the top ICC events, including the World Cricket League and European Division One Championship. The former Castletown player told BBC Isle of Man: "Being appointed is the highlight of my career to date." Kenworthy took up umpiring in 2001 and has been on the European Umpires Panel since 2008. The panel's members are selected from an extensive list of nominees submitted to the ICC European Officials Selection Committee by country boards. Isle of Man Cricket Association chairman Barry Smith said: "David's promotion is a huge personal achievement. It is just reward for a great deal of hard work and dedication. "I am sure it will prove both an inspiration and an incentive to all umpires working on the island."
