St John's lifted the Standard Bank Tinker Cup after a hard fought two wicket victory over Cronkbourne at Tromode on Sunday. The Saints delivered a fine bowling performance to limit Cronkbourne to 133 with Greg Hawke finishing on 5-21 from his eight overs. Matt Ansell quickly dismissed the first three St John's batsmen before Dan Hawke settled nerves with a fine 32. Despite fine bowling St John's managed to seal a dramatic win. Meanwhile, St John's still trail Castletown by two points in the Premier League after Saturday's fixtures were cancelled due to torrential rain. Castletown were not down to play and this now leaves the southerners two points clear with two games in hand.
