Pace bowler Dave Edwards took eight wickets in the match for Staffordshire |
Bedfordshire successfully chased a target of 402 to claim an unlikely victory over Staffordshire at Luton. The visitors had controlled the match in the first two days, but refused to enforce the follow-on despite taking a first-innings lead of 206. Bedfordshire required 340 runs on the final day with nine wickets remaining. Andrew Reynoldson [107], Matthew Barnes [67], James Kettleborough [62] and Oliver Clayson [56] guided the home side to a stunning two-wicket win. Staffordshire, who drew their opening Minor Counties Championship match against Cumberland, take on Suffolk in their next game on 4-6 July.
