St Just began their 50/50 Cup campaign in fine style with a comfortable 10-wicket win over Falmouth on Saturday. Batting first, Falmouth racked up 214 runs in 47 overs, with Adrian Noot's 89 their top score, as Robert Clackworthy took 3-19. In reply, St Just passed the target in 32.4 overs for the loss of no wickets, thanks to a century from Neil Curnow (108) and 96 from Dave Roberts. Saturday's other game saw Paul beat Penzance by 73 runs. After being put into bat, Paul managed to reach 256-5 in their 50 overs, thanks to 85 from Ryan Edwards and an unbeaten 82 from Tom Edwards. Penzance struggled in reply, and a string of early wickets left them behind the required rate. Charlie Goldsworthy top scored with 39, whilst both Richard Hall and Kelvin Snell took four wickets.
