Glynde will face West Yorkshire side Streethouse in the final |
Ex-Middlesex and England spinner John Emburey will help Glynde & Bellingham at this year's Village Cup final. Emburey played 64 Tests and 61 One Day Internationals for England in a career spanning more than 17 years. He will assist Glynde with nets and will deliver motivational talks to the side ahead of Monday's final. Glynde & Beddingham's Steve Lawrence said: "It's been a hectic build-up with lots of interest from supporters, the media and the local cricket scene." Their opponents, Streethouse, are joined by Ex-Australia ODI star Ian Harvey. "We're hoping to have around 500 people backing us at Lord's which will be fantastic for the team. It's going to be a huge occasion and one that we're determined to enjoy," Lawrence added. The Sussex outfit will include nine graduates from the junior club in a side expected to be unchanged from their semi-final win over Cresselly. The 2009 Village Cup final takes place at Lord's on Monday 14 September, play begins at 1100 BST.
