Nelson's all-round efforts secured another cup triumph for Saints

Mark Nelson took the man of the match award as Northampton Saints won the Hevey Northants League's Twenty20 title for the third time in four years.

The county all-rounder hit 37 from 26 balls and also claimed two wickets in a 24-run victory over Finedon Dolben in the final at Wantage Road.

Saints totalled 134 all out with Finedon dismissed for 110 in reply.

Finedon had earlier overcome Wellingborough Town in the semis, while Saints put out Old Northamptonians.

The victory represented a reversal of fortunes from Saturday's Northants League Premier Division programme, which saw Finedon replace Saints at the top of the table.

The Northampton club suffered a 115-run defeat at Peterborough, collapsing to 69 all-out in search of 185 to win, while Finedon beat Wollaston by 67 runs at Avenue Road.

Desborough and Brixworth both lost again and one of them looks certain to be relegated at the end of the season.
