League leaders Werrington cemented their position at the top of the Cornwall Premier League with a victory over rivals Newquay on Saturday. Werrington batted first with Mark Horwell's 63 helping them to 176-6, before bowling Newquay out for 92. In the weekend's other fixtures, champions St Just beat Truro by 35 runs at home. St Austell secured a narrow two-wicket defeat of Callington, whilst Paul won at home against Falmouth.
