Nasser Hussain and Graham Thorpe put England in complete control of the opening Test in 1997, with a record fourth wicket partnership of 288 (since bettered by Pietersen and Collingwood's stand of 310 at Adelaide in 2006).
England won by nine wickets and Wisden says Hussain was 'touched by genius' during his 'truly great innings' of 207.
