Rudolph played 35 Tests for South Africa |
Yorkshire batsman Jacques Rudolph has been encouraging more children to take up the sport through the Chance to Shine programme. Hosted at Kirkstall Education Cricket Club, the South African spent time coaching kids from across the region. The Yorkshire leg was part of 300 camps, seeing over 15,000 boys and girls taking part around the country. "I'm privileged to be involved in this and to be able to coach the kids," Rudolph told BBC Radio Leeds. Chance to shine is a 10-year projected created by the Cricket Foundation in order to regenerate competitive cricket in state schools. Since its launch in 2005 the campaign has equipped thousands of children across the UK with essential cricketing skills. Chance to Shine operations director Wasim Khan said: "The camps bring local children together to learn new skills, develop interests and have fun at the same time."
