Shropshire coach Rod Jones has slammed his side's batting after they slumped to a 119-run defeat by Oxfordshire.

"We'd specifically worked on tightening our bowling and fielding, but batting hasn't been such a problem," Jones told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We never looked like reaching the target and that's disappointing."

The defeat puts a huge dent in Shropshire's Minor Counties Championship hopes, but Jones insisted his side will fight "right to the end."
