Shropshire's cricketers insist they have not given up on their Minor Counties Championship chase. Eight points from their rain-shortened draw with Wiltshire has taken them up to second spot - still 18 behind leaders Cheshire however. "The weather's frustrating, but we have three games left - and they're winnable ones," county secretary Neville Birch told BBC Radio Shropshire. "Cheshire will take some catching, but we'll be at them right to the end." With the scheduled three days at Bridgnorth truncated to one and a single innings each, Shropshire went for victory over Wiltshire. Atiq Rehman and Rob Foster hit 74 and 68 apiece as Shropshire rattled up 239-7 - but the visitors then held out at 176-4, Adam Shimmins taking two wickets. Cheshire still lead the table on 54 points, followed by Shropshire and Berkshire on 36. Shropshire's next game is against Oxfordshire at Whitchurch on 20-22 July.
