Guernsey's Under-17s lost their debut European First Division match by 109 runs to Scotland on Tuesday.

After putting their opponents into bat, Guernsey conceded 306 runs at Downpatrick in Northern Ireland.

The experienced Scottish bowling attack then made frequent breakthroughs to dismiss Guernsey's youngsters for 197 and secure a win by 109 runs.

Guernsey's youth development coach Mike Kinder said: "We are very pleased they are competing at this level."
