Jersey's Under-19s won the Division Two event in 2007

Jersey's Under-17s are preparing for their opening game against hosts Ireland at the ICC European Division One Championships.

It is the first time they have competed at the top level after their junior sides were promoted when Jersey won the Under-19 Division Two last year.

Their first match will be against the Irish on Tuesday, whose squad includes senior international Paul Stirling.

Familiar rivals Guernsey are also playing in the championships.
